Bode George Criticizes Tinubu Trip To France Amid National Crises

In a statement titled “Whither Nigeria, my beloved country,” made available to Naija News on Wednesday, George lamented that it was disgraceful that while Nigerians are struggling with insecurity and other national issues, the Federal Government, under Tinubu’s leadership, is preoccupied with less critical matters, such as the recall of embattled Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central.

The PDP leader emphasized his worries over the country’s current state, accusing the government of ignoring the pleas of the people and pushing forward policies that could lead to the country’s disintegration. He noted that Nigeria is perilously heading toward self-destruction.

He further remarked that history serves as both a record of the past and a warning for the future. In his view, the actions of the APC-led government are reminiscent of the events that led to the collapse of Nigeria’s First and Second Republics.

He said, “Today, amidst the crises of insecurity, hunger, unemployment, and other challenges, President Tinubu has left for Paris for reasons best known to him and his handlers. While Nigerians no longer feel safe in their own country, the Federal Government, the APC, and the Senate are focused on trivial matters, like recalling Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. This is shameful!”

George concluded by referencing Fela Kuti’s music, which he believes remains relevant to the country’s current political situation, warning that the mistakes of the past are being repeated by the present government.
