Mustapha Madu visited the site to assess the damage and inspect the burnt houses, shops, and the church auditorium. His media team released a statement confirming the events and offering support to those affected.

The attack comes amidst ongoing insecurity in the region, which has seen frequent attacks by Boko Haram and other extremist groups. These groups have terrorized communities in northeastern Nigeria for over a decade, displacing thousands and leaving countless others dead or injured.

In a related development, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, condemned a separate explosion attack at Nganzai Divisional Police Headquarters in Borno State. This attack, also linked to suspected Boko Haram members, resulted in the deaths of several police officers. Egbetokun praised the bravery of security personnel who fought back during the assault and ordered the Zone 15 Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, to investigate and apprehend the perpetrators.

The violence in Borno State highlights the urgent need for more robust security measures and support for affected communities. Efforts to address the humanitarian crisis continue, as local and international bodies work together to rebuild lives and ensure justice for victims. The people of Borno, especially those in conflict-affected areas, remain resilient in the face of adversity, striving for peace and stability in their region.
