BREAKING: APC Expels Top Party Chieftain In South South, Gives Strong Reason

Mr. Ita Enang, a former special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly Matters, has been expelled from the Akwa Ibom State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for anti-party activities.

The APC’s state Working Committee approved the recommendations of the party’s Disciplinary Committee to expel the former presidential aide.

The ratification was disclosed in a letter signed by the state party Chairman, Hon. Obong Leo Steven Ntukekpo, in response to a petition detailing the former legislator’s gross anti-party activities written and submitted to the state party leadership by his ward chairman in the state’s Eastern Ward 2, Ibiono Local Government Area.

The letter also revealed that Enang had been holding secret meetings with the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state in order to undermine the APC’s chances in the general election, despite the party’s directives.

Enang had enmeshed the candidate, Obong Akan Udofia, in a flurry of litigations at various courts in Abuja and Uyo in the aftermath of the state governorship primaries until recently, when the Court of Appeal in a landmark ruling affirmed Udofia as the valid candidate of the party for the March 11th governorship elections in Akwa Ibom State.

The decision to expel Enang means that he can no longer pursue legal action against the party and its candidate because he is no longer a member of the party.
