According to Bala-Tafida, the dismissals take immediate effect, and the affected officials have been instructed to hand over their responsibilities to the Directors of Administration in their respective local government areas.

“The state government appreciates their contributions to the development of education across the local government education authorities. While acknowledging their service, we wish them success in their future endeavors,” Bala-Tafida stated.

Meanwhile, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has emphasized the importance of education in national development. Speaking during the funeral service of his elder brother, Olufunmilayo Sunday Makinde, at the Bishop Akinyele Memorial Anglican Church in Ibadan, the governor highlighted the limitations of relying solely on natural resources.

Makinde contrasted Venezuela’s vast oil reserves with its economic struggles, while citing Finland’s success without natural resources, attributing it to robust investment in education.

“Natural resources alone do not guarantee prosperity. To thrive, we must invest in education and nurture entrepreneurs,” Makinde stated, urging Nigeria to diversify its economic strategies.
