BREAKING: Govt Declares Wednesday Work-free, Gives Reason
The Kano State Government has announced that Wednesday, July 19, will be a work-free day in celebration of the start of the 1445 Islamic (Hijrah) New Year.
This decision was communicated through a statement issued by Baba Dantiye, the Commissioner for Information, on behalf of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Tuesday, as reported by NAN.
Governor Yusuf extended his congratulations to Muslims worldwide on the occasion of the new Islamic year.
He encouraged civil servants and all residents of Kano to offer prayers for peace, tranquillity, and economic prosperity in the state and Nigeria as a whole.
The governor emphasized the importance of living in accordance with the teachings of Islam and urged people to follow the examples of kindness, love, and tolerance demonstrated by the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
