This development was confirmed by Samuel Ojo, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Security, through a statement from Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke’s spokesperson, following a closed-door meeting with the governor and Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Umar Abba.

The incident in question involves the alleged shooting of Wakeel Nurudeen Iyanda Alowonle, Chairman of the Osun State Transport Management System, by Lohor’s team on Monday night. While the police claim that Alowonle was shot during an attempted escape after firearms were found in his car, the Osun State government has described the incident as a potential murder.

In a statement on Tuesday, Osun State Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, condemned the shooting, asserting that the act was a clear case of abuse of power. Governor Adeleke has vowed to pursue justice, underscoring his commitment to protecting citizens from such acts.

The statement confirmed that Alowonle, who was shot in the abdomen, is currently on life support in the Intensive Care Unit of Osun State Teaching Hospital in Osogbo. Police authorities have also criticized Lohor’s actions as unprofessional and unauthorized, with the officers involved being moved to Abuja for further investigation
