BREAKING: Powerful Northern Governor Sacks Commissioner, Gives Strong Reason
Abdullahi Ganduje, Governor of Kano State, has fired Dr. Muhammad Tahar Adam, the state’s Commissioner for Religious Affairs.
The Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Muhammad Garba, announced Adam’s dismissal in a statement on Saturday, adding that the decision is effective immediately.
According to the statement, Adam has demonstrated an unsuitable attitude for a public servant in a sensitive position, as well as unguarded utterances.
“He was also found to be running the affairs of his office as personal business and even unilaterally reducing working days for the staff of the ministry, exempting Wednesdays and Fridays,” Garba stated.
Apart from operating without due consultation, it was discovered that the commissioner was not loyal to the government.
Meanwhile, the governor has submitted to the state House of Assembly the name of a replacement for screening and appointment as the new commissioner, Dr. Nazifi Ishaq Bichi of Bayero University, Kano.
Governor Ganduje wished the sacked commissioner well in his future endeavors.
