President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Kaduna State on Thursday for the second phase of his three-state working tour aimed at unveiling major infrastructural projects.

His Boeing 737 aircraft touched down at the Nigerian Air Force base in Mando at exactly 1:27 p.m., where he was warmly received by top government functionaries and traditional rulers. Notable dignitaries present included the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin; and Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State.

During his one-day visit, the President is scheduled to commission several key projects:

  • A newly built Institute of Skill Acquisition and Development in Riga Chukun

  • A 300-bed Specialist Hospital in Millennium City

  • A fleet of 100 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses to enhance intra-city transport in Kaduna

He will also attend a grand civic reception at Murtala Square hosted by the Kaduna State Government in his honour.

Originally planned for Wednesday, the visit was delayed by a day due to Tinubu’s prior engagement in Benue State, where he visited victims of recent attacks that claimed around 200 lives.

In anticipation of his arrival, security in Kaduna was significantly heightened. Authorities imposed traffic diversions on major routes such as Kawo Bridge and Independence Way from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. to facilitate safe passage.
