BREAKING: Trouble As Niger’s Junta Gives French Ambassador 48 Hours To Leave Country

Following the military takeover in Niamey on July 26, the ruling authorities have issued a 48-hour ultimatum for the French ambassador to leave Niger, as announced by the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs in a statement released on Friday.

The decision was prompted by the French ambassador’s refusal to attend a meeting with the minister and by other actions taken by the French government that are perceived as contrary to Niger’s interests.

Due to these concerns, the approval for Sylvain Itte, the French ambassador, has been revoked, and he has been asked to depart Niger within the next 48 hours, according to the statement.

The coup leaders have not hidden their interactions with France, and Niger has accused French forces of releasing captured “terrorists” and violating airspace restrictions in a suspected effort to destabilize the country.

Abdramane, a spokesperson for Niger, commented, “We are observing a clear plan aimed at destabilizing our nation, masterminded by French forces.”
