Businessman Excretes 127 Wraps Of Cocaine After NDLEA Arrest At Kano Airport

According to Ireporter Online, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 52-year-old businessman, Ejiofor Godwin Emeka, at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) after he excreted 127 wraps of cocaine that he had concealed in his body.

Emeka, who reportedly owns clothing stores in Lagos and Onitsha, Anambra State, was apprehended on October 8, 2025, shortly after arriving from Bangkok, Thailand, on an Ethiopian Airlines flight. Acting on credible intelligence, NDLEA officers subjected him to a body scan, which revealed the presence of illicit substances hidden internally and within his private parts.

The agency disclosed that 58 wraps of cocaine were initially found in his underwear, while another 69 were later excreted under strict medical supervision, bringing the total weight to 1.388 kilograms.

In a separate operation, NDLEA operatives intercepted three parcels of narcotics bound for the United Kingdom at a courier company in Lagos on October 9 and 10. The packages reportedly contained 1.74 kilograms of methamphetamine ingeniously concealed in glass ceramic blocks, 114 grams of pentazocine and 168 grams of tramadol injections, as well as 48 grams of tramadol capsules disguised as Vitamin C tablets.

Further investigations uncovered several other international smuggling attempts. Among these were 2.6 kilograms of skunk and 422 grams of tapentadol packed in black soap tablets heading to Turkey, 169 grams of cocaine hidden in ladies’ handbags destined for Australia, and 568 grams of “Loud,” a high-grade strain of cannabis, tucked in herbal containers meant for the United Arab Emirates.

At the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, NDLEA officers intercepted 27,510 rohypnol pills hidden in sachets of alcoholic drinks bound for South Africa. A follow-up operation led to the arrest of 46-year-old suspect, Samuel Omoruyi, popularly known as “Yellow,” who was apprehended at Oyingbo Market on October 2, following the earlier detention of two of his accomplices.

Meanwhile, another trafficker, Enehizena Augustine Uyimwen, a businessman based in Italy, was arrested for attempting to export 3,700 tramadol pills (225mg) and 2,600 tapentadol tablets (200mg) concealed within food items to Europe. He confessed to committing the act on behalf of another individual for a payment of €945.

Across several states, NDLEA commands recorded major seizures and arrests. In Edo, officers raided the residence of one Emmanuel Sunday, 33, recovering 47 kilograms of skunk. Similarly, in Osun State, two suspects, Nureni Ayobami Eleweodo, 48, and Oladejo Taiwo, 52, were apprehended at Omifufun village with 635 kilograms of the substance in a Toyota Hiace bus, while two others were nabbed nearby with an additional 100 kilograms.

In Rivers State, two suspects, Okoro Julius, 20, and Onyebuchi Nwibo, 25, were caught with 8.5 kilograms of skunk, while in Katsina, 46-year-old Sulaiman Kalalu was arrested with 29.5 kilograms of cannabis in his home.

Similarly, NDLEA operatives in Niger State apprehended 29-year-old Yisa Daniel in New Bussa for being in possession of 22,000 tramadol capsules, 800 pentazocine ampoules, and 150,000 exol-5 pills. In Ondo, 312 kilograms of skunk were recovered from a forest camp, while 141.8 kilograms were intercepted from two suspects along the Benin-Lagos Expressway. In Kaduna, one Rufai Ahmed, 27, also known as “Farin Malam,” was arrested while transporting 150,000 exol-5 tablets from Lagos to Katsina.

Beyond its enforcement actions, the NDLEA intensified its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign through sensitization programmes held in schools and communities across states including Adamawa, Ebonyi, Katsina, Enugu, Niger, Kogi, Anambra, Rivers, Kano, and Osun. The initiative aims to educate young Nigerians about the dangers of drug abuse and trafficking.

Commending the officers for their efforts, NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive, Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd.), applauded their dedication and professionalism, stating that their “tenacity, professionalism, and balanced approach continue to strengthen the agency’s fight against drug trafficking and abuse.”
