Capacity Meets Competency: Ovia Is In Safe Hands With Dennis Idahosa
One major mistake Nigerians may make in the run-up to the 2023 general elections is focusing solely on the presidential elections and failing to pay close attention to local elections ranging from the House of Assembly to the National Assembly.
Every level of government has a specific function to fulfill in the development of a nation.
For instance, Nigeria would be less reliant on the Federal Government to meet its needs if it could produce 70% of quality representatives as lawmakers.
It was once questioned why development couldn’t reach the nation’s hinterlands if ballot papers could.
The truth is that every community has a representative who is responsible for some of its constituents’ social and economic needs.
The maximum amount that something can hold is defined as its capacity, whilst competence is defined as the ability to do something successfully or efficiently.
When we say something is in safe hands, we mean it is being protected or cared for by someone trustworthy.
We can proudly state that the lawmaker representing Ovia Federal constituency in the National Assembly, Hon Dennis Idahosa, has indeed kept the constituency safe over the last three years, with over 80 projects spread across the 23 wards that comprise the constituency, including the construction of over 28 schools, among other things.
Dennis has 17 motions and four bills to his name. Today, Ovia can be said to have reaped the benefits of democracy as a result of a dedicated representative who is competent and capable of fully utilizing the potentials of making Ovia one of the most significant constituencies.
