Cease And Desist” — EFCC Sends Tough Message To Online Content Creators
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has issued a stern warning to content creators, cautioning against the unauthorized use of its identity in any form of media production, and stressing that violators risk facing legal action.
According to reports from Ireporter Online, the anti-graft agency raised concerns over a growing trend in which skit makers and digital creators incorporate the EFCC’s name, logo, uniforms, and other official insignia into their content without proper authorization. The commission noted that many of such productions often misrepresent its core values and operational standards.
In a statement released via its official platform on Saturday, the EFCC clarified that it has not granted permission to any individual or group to use its identity in comedy skits, dramas, or other online productions. The agency emphasized that it neither endorses nor sponsors any content featuring its image without prior written consent.
The commission further advised the public to immediately desist from using its name, logo, or any identifiable elements in promotional or entertainment content without official approval. It warned that failure to comply with this directive would result in prosecution.
