Chief Press Secretary ‘Exposes’ Gov Abiodun, Reveals Why He Was Confident Of Favourable Tribunal Judgment

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State expressed unwavering confidence that the verdict from the Ogun State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal would rule in his favor. He maintained his belief that the tribunal would affirm his victory in the March 18 governorship election.

Abiodun’s confidence proved well-founded as the tribunal’s judgment on Saturday upheld his win, dismissing the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party’s gubernatorial candidate, Ladi Adebutu, who contested the election results.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Lekan Adeniran, Abiodun stated, “We were never in doubt that our hard-earned victory would be affirmed as we placed our trust in God, having worked the hardest campaigning in every nook and cranny of Ogun State. We won fair and square, we earned it and deserved it.”

He further extended an invitation to the opposition to put aside any hostility and join him in the collective effort to develop Ogun State.

Chief Yemi Sanusi, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, commented that this victory would serve as a catalyst for the governor to redouble his efforts in delivering the fruits of democracy to the people.
