An Oyo State High Court in Ibadan has dismissed a legal challenge questioning the nomination and installation of the Olugbon of Orile Igbon, Oba Francis Olushola Alao.

The suit was filed by four members of the Akinbola family, who contested the selection process, appointment, and official approval of Oba Alao as the traditional ruler.
Justice Adedokun ruled that the court was not legally empowered to adjudicate the matter, noting that the claimants lacked the locus standi—the legal right—to initiate the case.
Furthermore, the court found the suit procedurally flawed, as it failed to include the Surulere Local Government, the statutory authority responsible for overseeing and approving the selection of traditional leaders in the area.
