Cross River Local Elections: APC Emerges Dominant With Eight Chairmanship Wins

including Abi, Akamkpa, Akpabio, Bakassi, Bekwarra, Etung, Obudu, and Odukpani, as announced by the Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission (CROSIEC) chairman, Ekong Boco.

In his statement from the CROSIEC headquarters in Calabar, Boco confirmed some of the results: Egballa Bassey of APC won in Abi LGA with 26,265 votes, Akposi Felix secured Akamkpa with 53,882 votes, and Effiom Effiong claimed victory in Akpabio with 25,164 votes. Additional APC winners include Okon Etim for Bakassi with 12,117 votes, Ushie Theresa in Bekwarra with 31,551 votes, and Henry Njah in Etung with 18,727 votes. Peter Undiandeye received 112,654 votes in Obudu, while Etim Asideo won Odukpani with 41,368 votes.

The CROSIEC chairman attributed delays in announcing some results to challenging terrains, long travel distances to the state capital, and poor road conditions in some areas.
