Davido Jokingly Says He’ll Be a Vulcaniser in His Next Life Amid Jet Trolls
Nigerian Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has stirred conversation online after humorously declaring that he would be a vulcaniser in his next life.
The singer, who is the son of billionaire businessman Adedeji Adeleke, made the statement on social media in response to criticisms over his frequent use of private jets.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Davido fired back at critics who accused him of flaunting his family’s wealth, particularly his access to a private jet. “This free jet wey I dey fly all around the world dey really pain una. I’m sorry it’s my birth right. In my next life, I go come back as vulcaniser. Ma binu,” he wrote.
The comment comes amid a wave of trolling by netizens who continue to attribute the singer’s success solely to his privileged background. Davido, however, maintains that despite his affluent upbringing, he has earned his place in the music industry through hard work and talent.
This is not the first time Davido has addressed the criticism surrounding his background. In past statements, he has lamented being unfairly judged in the industry because of his wealth, insisting that his achievements are a result of merit and resilience.
