In a statement issued Thursday, Suleiman, through his spokesperson Mukhtar Kobi, labeled Dogara’s remarks as “verbose, baseless, and self-serving.”

Dogara had earlier accused Governor Mohammed of ingratitude and betrayal after the governor criticized Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. In his statement, Dogara alleged that Wike had funded Mohammed’s 2018 gubernatorial campaign and questioned why he attacked Wike after receiving his support.

Suleiman, however, dismissed these claims, stating that Dogara’s allegations were merely an attempt to tarnish the reputation of a leader committed to the growth of Bauchi State. He emphasized that Governor Mohammed’s success was not due to “backroom deals” but rather the people’s support and trust.

The Bauchi Speaker further countered Dogara’s assertion that Governor Mohammed lacked the financial means to run his campaign, pointing out that the governor’s victory was the result of widespread support and not the favor of any individual.

He concluded by stating that it was dishonest to suggest that Mohammed’s leadership had been based on personal deals and that his continued efforts focused on uniting the party and the state.
