One witness, Baba Nura, recalled, “I was nearby when I heard a loud explosion. I rushed to the scene and saw the tanker had burst, and fire was spreading throughout the station.”

The fire caused considerable damage to the station and nearby properties. The Jigawa State Police confirmed the incident, stating that they had cordoned off the area and dispatched fire services.
