According to Ireporter Online, the black market, also known as the parallel market or Aboki FX, saw the US dollar trading at ₦1,420 for sellers and ₦1,400 for buyers in Lagos on Sunday, March 8, 2026. This exchange rate allows individuals to swap their dollars for Naira at the rates offered by Bureau De Change (BDC) operators.

It is important to note that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not officially recognize the parallel market. The bank has reiterated that individuals wishing to conduct foreign exchange transactions should do so through authorized commercial banks.

On the same day, the CBN official rate recorded a highest exchange of ₦1,404 per dollar and a lowest of ₦1,398. Experts caution that rates may fluctuate, and actual buying or selling prices may differ from the figures reported due to market variability.
