Drama As ‘Danfo’ Driver Strips Naked To Evade Arrest After Stabbing LASTMA Official

In the Costain area of Lagos, a commercial bus driver, commonly known as a danfo driver, resorted to stripping himself naked in an attempt to evade arrest after stabbing a Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) official. The incident occurred following a traffic offense committed by the driver.

A statement released on Sunday by LASTMA provided details of the incident, stating that the driver of a Volkswagen ‘T4’ commercial bus with registration number LSR 966 YE was apprehended for causing serious traffic obstruction by picking up passengers on the main expressway around the Costain roundabout in Lagos.

Officer Olajide Olukoga ‘Bravo’, who led the enforcement team, explained that the operation was conducted after repeated warnings to drivers to use designated bus stops for picking up or dropping off passengers.

Despite the driver’s attempts to escape using dangerous driving maneuvers, the enforcement team successfully apprehended him. In response, the driver produced a knife and stabbed Officer Olukoga. Witnessing the severity of the injury, the driver chose to strip himself naked, causing a significant commotion before being eventually arrested by policemen from Iponri Police Station.

Subsequently, security officers recovered dangerous weapons, including a cutlass and a knife, from inside the driver’s commercial Volkswagen ‘T4’ bus after his arrest.
