Nollywood star Mercy Johnson Okojie has publicly appealed for the immediate release of Sammy West, the brother of actress Regina Daniels, following his reported arrest in connection with ongoing tensions between Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.

According to Ireporter Online, the actress made her plea through social media, condemning what she described as an “unjust and alarming” detention. Johnson voiced serious concerns about Sammy’s welfare while in custody and questioned the legality of the procedures that led to his arrest.

Reports indicate that Sammy West was apprehended on Monday and allegedly transported from Lagos to Abuja, where he was said to have been taken directly to court upon arrival. His brother, Sweezy, accused Senator Nwoko of orchestrating the arrest as an act of intimidation, claiming it was a tactic to pressure Regina Daniels into returning to her husband’s home.

Sweezy further alleged that Sammy has been deprived of legal representation, food, and water since his detention, describing the conditions as a blatant violation of human rights.

Reacting to the situation, Mercy Johnson expressed outrage over what she termed “pretended justice,” emphasizing that arresting a young man without due process constitutes a grave injustice.
