During a courtesy visit by NUJ Sokoto State Council, Fatai Olawuwo, the state director of services, emphasizes the importance of thorough investigations before reporting on matters related to public safety.

Olawuwo underscores NUJ’s professional responsibility in promoting security by focusing on solutions and development in their reports, acknowledging the crucial role journalists play in maintaining the security structure.

The state DSS director assures of heightened collaboration with NUJ and other relevant bodies to effectively fulfill the service’s constitutional mandate in preserving internal security. He urges journalists to maintain neutrality for the successful implementation of solution-oriented and developmental journalism.

NUJ State Chairman, Malam Dalhatu Abdullahi, emphasizes the common goal of both the union and DSS in working towards the security, safety, peace, and development of the country and its citizens. Abdullahi highlights journalists’ commitment to providing solutions and conveying government policies objectively and ethically.
