Edo APC Executive Endorses Tinubu, Supports Okpebholo’s Second Term For Exceptional Performance
According to Ireporter Online, the newly elected executive of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, led by Jarrett Tenebe, has formally endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Monday Okpebholo for second terms, citing their exemplary performance.
The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Okpebholo, Patrick Akhere Ebojele, disclosed on Tuesday that the endorsement was made during the party’s state congress, which also saw the election of a 36-member state executive. The congress, held at the Sir Victor Uwaifo Hub in Benin City, brought together delegates from all 192 wards across Edo State.
Dignitaries at the event included Minister for Regional Development Abubakar Momoh, Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, Secretary to the Edo State Government Barr. Musa Ikhilor, former Governor Adams Oshiomhole, and other prominent party leaders. The delegates unanimously returned the Tenebe-led executive for another four-year term.
In his acceptance speech, Tenebe highlighted the executive’s endorsement of Tinubu and Okpebholo, emphasizing their strong performance and contributions to both the state and the nation. He also announced support for Senator Adams Oshiomhole of Edo North for a second Senate term, citing his quality representation.
Tenebe commended the delegates for their confidence in the executive and pledged to continue advancing the party’s agenda, stating that the leadership would prioritize the welfare of Edo residents while sustaining the governor’s developmental initiatives.
“This unanimous affirmation is a call to duty. We are prepared to ensure the party continues to put Edo people first while supporting the governor’s developmental strides,” Tenebe said. He described the next four years as a marathon, underscoring the responsibility entrusted to the re-elected executive.
Chairman of the National Congress Committee, Kabiru Ajana, confirmed that the elections for all 36 APC executive positions were conducted smoothly, with no appeals or contestations, reflecting party unity. Former Governor Oshiomhole also commended the delegates, describing the exercise as seamless and symbolic of the APC’s cohesion in Edo State.
