EFCC Chairman Vows To Resign If Investigation Into Yahaya Bello Is Not Completed

Olukoyede revealed that he personally called Bello, urging him to appear before the commission to address the charges against him, but Bello declined the invitation. Speaking at the EFCC Headquarters in Abuja, Olukoyede stressed the importance of public support for the EFCC’s efforts to combat corruption, noting that failure to do so would reflect negatively on the country.

He highlighted the positive impact of the EFCC’s efforts on the Naira’s appreciation and the foreign market. The EFCC seeks to arraign Bello on charges of money laundering, breach of trust, and misappropriation of funds totaling N80.2 billion. Olukoyede pledged to prosecute Bello and all those who obstructed his arrest. He reaffirmed the EFCC’s commitment to sanitizing the country despite any challenges.
