Enugu’s Progress Celebrated: Ohanaeze Hails Gov Mbah’s 5 Transport Terminals And 100 CNG Buses
Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, led by Senator John Azuta Mbata, has praised Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State for the recent inauguration of five state-of-the-art transport terminals across the state, as part of his comprehensive plan to develop a modern and multimodal transport system.
According to iReporter Online, the organization also commended Mbah for launching 100 of the planned 200 CNG Mass Transit buses, the Enugu State Modern Transport System, and the construction of 80 modern bus shelters and bays throughout Enugu.
in a statement issued by Deputy National Publicity Secretary Mazi Ikechukwu Bismarck Oji, Ohanaeze lauded Mbah’s rapid progress in transforming key sectors within just two years.
They highlighted the revival of dormant government assets such as United Palm Products Limited, Hotel Presidential, and NIGERGAS, as well as ongoing projects like 260 Smart Green School Projects, 260 ultramodern Primary Healthcare Centres, and the completion of the Enugu International Conference Centre.
According to iReporter Online, the group also praised Mbah’s strides in security, citing the establishment of the Enugu Command and Control Centre and the deployment of over 150 AI-enabled security vehicles, which have contributed to making Enugu one of Nigeria’s safest states.
They noted that the Monday Sit-At-Home protests have ended under his leadership.
further commendation was given for Mbah’s efforts in the power sector, including the creation of the Enugu State Electricity Regulatory Commission and the reduction of electricity tariffs.
the organization expressed joy over the transport infrastructure developments, including the launch of the Holy Ghost Terminals 1 and 2, Nsukka Terminal, Abakpa Nike Terminal, and Gariki Terminal, along with the 100 CNG buses and the Enugu Transport Management System.
They stated these facilities place Enugu’s transport system on par with the best in the world.
Ohanaeze called on residents to support and responsibly utilize these facilities, emphasizing that the projects align with Mbah’s vision to grow Enugu’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion.
According to iReporter Online, Mbah recently commissioned these terminals and buses, emphasizing that the projects are part of his broader agenda to connect road, rail, air, and waterways into a seamless, efficient ecosystem, creating jobs, stimulating SMEs, and positioning Enugu to compete regionally and continentally.
Mbah highlighted that the initiatives are set to create over 20,000 jobs across various sectors, including BRT, city taxis, airport operations, ride-hailing, and support services, exemplifying his commitment to infrastructural development and economic growth.
