Exclusive: ‘₦5 Billion Lawsuit’ Natasha Files Explosive Court Case Against Nwaebonyi Over ‘Gold Digger’ Slur

In suit No. CV/1359/25, filed through her legal team led by Michael Jonathan Numa, SAN, Natasha accuses Nwaebonyi of making false and damaging remarks during a March 6, 2025 appearance on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily. According to the suit, Nwaebonyi allegedly called her a “gold digger”, “habitual liar”, and “blackmailer.”

The lawmaker claims these statements are not only false and malicious but have severely harmed her reputation, causing public embarrassment and emotional distress.

She also cited comments made by the defendant during a March 3 interview on Arise TV, where he allegedly described her as a “mother of six from different men,” and further defamatory remarks captured in YouTube videos dated March 27, 2025.

Natasha is seeking the following from the court:

Declarations that the defendant’s statements are false, defamatory, and damaging.

A perpetual injunction preventing Nwaebonyi and his associates from making further defamatory remarks.

A retraction and public apology in at least two national newspapers and on the platforms where the statements were made.

₦5 billion in aggravated and exemplary damages.

₦100 million for the cost of litigation.

Post-judgment interest of 10% per annum until the payment is completed.

The suit challenges whether the defamatory remarks can be justified under freedom of speech, asserting that such freedom does not permit harmful falsehoods.
