According to Ireporter Online, the Niger State Police Command has deployed its bomb disposal unit following the discovery of an explosive device along a roadside in the state. The Commissioner of Police, Adamu Elleman, confirmed the development, assuring residents that the situation was under control.

The explosive device was discovered in the Ganaru community within the Zugurma District of Mashegu Local Government Area. Initial reports from residents suggested that multiple explosives had been planted in the area, but police authorities clarified that only one device was found.

Speaking on the incident, the police commissioner explained that specialists had been dispatched to assess and safely evacuate the device. He urged residents to remain calm and continue their lawful activities without fear, noting that security measures had been strengthened around the affected area.

The device was reportedly sighted by farmers heading to their farmlands, who promptly alerted local authorities after suspecting that explosives had been planted by the roadside. Following the alert, security operatives moved swiftly to secure the location.
