The rift between the siblings gained public attention in 2018 when Aremu alleged that their father lived in poverty despite his fame. In response, Kunle dismissed the claims and referred to Aremu as “stupid” during a viral interview.

At the wake-keep, Kunle addressed the crowd, expressing his paternal-like relationship with Aremu, noting that he is 10 years older and had played a significant role in raising him.
