The council also imposed a two-week ban on the operations of scrap metal dealers, known locally as “Pantekas,” to facilitate profiling and ensure only legitimate businesses operate. Additionally, scavenging activities are now restricted to designated dump sites outside the city center and suburbs.

These measures reflect the council’s commitment to safeguarding public infrastructure and enhancing the safety of residents in the FCT.
