According to Ireporter Online, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Digital Learning Centre (DLC) at Ujabhole Grammar School in Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State. The project aims to bridge the digital divide and foster greater inclusion in technology-based education across the country.

Senator Tinubu, who commissioned the facility virtually, explained that the initiative is part of her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), which seeks to empower young Nigerians through access to digital education and innovation. Represented by the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, the First Lady revealed that 296 digital learning centres have already been established nationwide, with an additional 148 set to be completed before the end of the year. The overall goal, she noted, is to build 592 centres by 2027.

The Coordinator, Office of the First Lady in Edo State, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, described the newly commissioned facility as a tangible reflection of the Renewed Hope Initiative and a major complement to Governor Monday Okpebholo’s SHINE agenda for educational transformation. She praised the governor’s commitment to advancing education through modern digital tools and learning resources.

Anani further emphasized that the centre would equip students with advanced e-learning materials, interactive technology, and 21st-century digital skills needed to excel in today’s knowledge-driven economy.
