FirstBank Introduces Dollar Fund For Female Employees

The initiative was announced by FirstBank Group Chief Executive Officer, Olusegun Alebiosu, during the bank’s International Women’s Day event in Lagos. Represented by Executive Director of Retail Banking (South) Directorate, Seyi Oyefeso, Alebiosu highlighted that the fund provides women with the opportunity to invest in U.S. dollars with as little as $100 at competitive interest rates.

He explained that the new fund offers an avenue for financial diversification, allowing participants to convert naira to dollars for investment purposes.

Global Chair of the FirstBank Women Network, Olaitan Martins, encouraged women to take action in pursuing their goals, emphasizing that waiting is no longer an option in the financial and corporate sectors. She urged female professionals to seize opportunities and accelerate their progress in banking and finance.

Additionally, non-executive director Remi Odunlami urged female employees to take on challenging projects and proactively contribute to their departments, reinforcing the importance of leadership and initiative in their careers.
