Fresh Update On Undersea Cable Cut Causing Internet Disruptions In Nigeria, Other African Nations

He attributed cable cuts to common factors like ship anchors, subsea landslides, and seismic events, emphasizing ongoing repair efforts. However, restoring networks faces challenges due to limited diversity, with repair costs estimated to be millions of dollars per cable. To mitigate risks, WIOCC is investing in the 2Africa cable, providing additional backup layers and enhanced connectivity between Lagos and Akwa Ibom.
