According to Ireporter Online, the committee, chaired by Hon. Oluwatimehin Adelegbe, was constituted following a House resolution aimed at curbing the rising cases of drug abuse among Nigerians. The lawmaker emphasized that the panel’s mandate includes identifying institutional and enforcement weaknesses, examining the root causes of substance abuse, and recommending practical measures to strengthen national drug control systems.
