How Will Atiku React To This? – What Fintiri Told Wike In His Congratulatory Message On Appointment As FCT Minister
Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has expressed his belief that the appointment of former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister is well-deserved.
In a post on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Fintiri stated that Wike’s new position is a result of his hard work and dedication.
Fintiri, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), commended Wike for his contributions and leadership qualities, noting that Wike’s appointment as a minister in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government sets a precedent for being the first opposition politician to join the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

The post read in part: “Congratulations on your Senate screening and appointment as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja. Your Excellency, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, you have set precedence and demonstrated exemplary leadership traits by delivering service and good governance according to the people’s need during your tenure as Governor of Rivers State which I believe earned you this position.”
Fintiri expressed confidence that Wike would bring the same level of dedication and commitment to his new role as he did during his time as the Governor of Rivers State. He further congratulated Wike on his appointment, stating that it is well-deserved and a recognition of his accomplishments.
Wike was among the ministers inaugurated by President Bola Tinubu on Monday. His appointment had caused some controversy within the PDP, as there were discussions about potentially suspending him from the party for his association with APC members. However, Wike and his supporters obtained court orders to halt the planned suspension.
Wike also mentioned that he had informed the leadership of his party about his decision to accept the appointment from President Tinubu. Despite the fact that Wike had worked against the PDP’s presidential candidate, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, during the 2023 elections, Fintiri, who is the governor of Atiku’s home state, congratulated Wike on his new role as the FCT Minister.
