According to Ireporter Online, former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Edward David Onoja, has dismissed reports circulating on social media that he has received a new appointment from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Managing Director of Maritime Services.

Onoja, who was recently appointed by President Tinubu as a Board Member of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), representing the North Central geopolitical zone, clarified the situation in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

He stated that his current and only official position remains that of a Board Member at the SEDC and expressed gratitude to the President for the trust and opportunity to serve.

“My attention has been drawn to a story currently circulating on social media suggesting that I have received a new appointment from His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. For the avoidance of doubt, my current and only portfolio remains that of Board Member, South East Development Commission (SEDC), representing the North Central geopolitical zone—a responsibility for which I remain profoundly grateful to Mr. President,” Onoja explained.
