I Watch With Fun How ADC And NDC Attack Each Other” – APC National Chairman Fires Shots
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has stated that he finds amusement in the ongoing exchanges between opposition parties, describing their internal conflicts as self-inflicted and a form of political self-destruction.
According to Ireporter Online, Yilwatda made the remarks on Monday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme, where he said the ruling APC was not engaged in any direct confrontation with opposition parties.
He explained that the real political struggle was currently unfolding between the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), noting that both parties had been locked in a series of public attacks against each other.
Yilwatda added that he had watched recent exchanges between the opposition parties with amusement, describing their mutual criticisms as entertaining while maintaining that the situation reflected internal weakness within the opposition rather than any pressure from the APC.
Responding to claims that he may be influencing divisions within the opposition, the APC chairman dismissed the allegation but admitted that weakening rival parties is part of political strategy, insisting that his duty is to ensure the ruling party remains dominant.
He also highlighted the APC’s internal dispute resolution system, stating that the party has structured committees at both national and state levels to manage conflicts arising from party activities and elections.
On issues surrounding the party’s membership register and electoral processes, Yilwatda said the APC relies on data from the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) for registration, adding that this approach strengthens the credibility and stability of the party’s system.
He further described the APC as a data-driven political organisation, noting that the use of verified national identity data places the party in a stronger position compared to others in terms of organisation and structure.
