IGP Redeploys 56 Police Officers From Monitoring Unit Nationwide — Full List Released

According to Ireporter Online, the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, has approved the redeployment of 56 Supernumerary Police Officers previously attached to the Police Monitoring Unit in Abuja to various commands across the country.

The directive, issued in an internal memo dated April 11, 2026, from the Force Headquarters in Abuja, was signed by Bode Akinbamilowo on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police. The memo was addressed to Deputy Inspectors-General, Assistant Inspectors-General, Commissioners of Police, and heads of formations and training institutions.

The affected officers, comprising ranks from Chief Superintendents of Police to Assistant Superintendents of Police, have been reassigned to several formations nationwide, including the Federal Capital Territory, Lagos, Rivers, Kogi, Nasarawa, Niger, and Benue States.

The redeployment list features officers such as CSP Oki Ilaye Phelim, CSP Onya C. Agha, CSP Mohammed Abdulkareem, CSP Oriarewo Emmanuel, CSP Broadrick B. Obah, and CSP Chime Chukwunonso, among others, alongside multiple Superintendents, Deputy Superintendents, and Assistant Superintendents posted to different state commands and police institutions.

In addition, officers including DSP Imoh Dominic, DSP Nwadike Darlington, DSP Gonjing Danlami, and DSP Francis Ogbonye were among those reassigned, alongside numerous ASPs deployed to various state commands including Lagos, Abuja, Rivers, and Kogi.

The police authority also issued a stern warning that any officer who attempts to lobby the Inspector-General regarding their posting would face severe disciplinary measures. The memo further instructed all relevant departments and formations to ensure immediate release of the affected officers to enable them assume duty at their new locations without delay.
