The majority of the victims were women and children, with over 230 individuals injured. Israeli forces conducted a specialized rescue operation, freeing two hostages during the strike. Israeli planes targeted the Al-Huda and Al-Rahma mosques, where many refugees sought shelter.

The Palestinian Red Crescent reported bombings on residential buildings and the organization’s headquarters in the surrounding area. Gefen Sigal Ilan, the niece of freed hostage Fernando Simon Marman, expressed gratitude to Israeli forces for her uncle’s rescue.

However, she also lamented the loss of soldiers in the operation. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the deaths of two soldiers from its Magellan special unit in combat in southern Gaza.

Israel initiated hostilities against Hamas on October 7, following Hamas’ actions against Israel. Israel has imposed a complete siege on the densely populated Gaza Strip, resulting in severe hardships for its residents.

The conflict has led to the deaths of at least 27,585 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and the injury of 67,000 others.
