According to Ireporter Online, popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Iyabo Ojo, has issued a stern warning to an alleged Facebook impersonator who has been using her name and image to operate a blog with over 2.7 million followers.

In a recent video shared on her verified Instagram account, the actress condemned the fraudulent page, accusing the operator of spreading false information, profiting off her identity, and misleading the public. She expressed frustration that despite several attempts to report the page to Facebook, it continues to thrive under a modified name, “Iyabo Ojo Lovers,” which makes it appear like a fan page.

Ojo clarified that she has no connection with the account, emphasizing that the individual behind it has been using her likeness to gain attention and generate income through fake stories. “This is not my fan page. I don’t know who owns it or who created it,” she stated.

The actress demanded that the impersonator immediately remove her name and photos from the page, threatening to take decisive action to ensure its removal if the warnings are ignored.

Expressing her displeasure, Ojo criticized those who exploit her name for financial gain or social media relevance, urging them to “get a life and get a job” instead of spreading falsehoods online.

She revealed that the ongoing impersonation was one of the reasons she joined Facebook, explaining that she had learned that such fraudulent pages could be taken down locally if reported appropriately.

“This person has been using my name to deceive people and make money. If you want to be a blogger, create your own identity. Remove my name and picture now because the next time I check, that page will no longer exist,” she warned.

Ojo further accused the impersonator of constantly reposting her Instagram content and mirroring her online activities, describing the act as “madness.” She reiterated her call for the culprit to rebrand the page and stop misleading her fans, insisting that she has no business with blogging or online gossip.

The actress concluded her message by cautioning others who impersonate her on various social media platforms such as Facebook and TikTok, warning that she would take stronger measures if the fraudulent activities persist.
