According to Ireporter Online, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has described supporters of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as “clueless kids” who need to be “tamed and trained,” following a protest staged at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Abuja.

The ADC members and supporters had on Wednesday gathered in a peaceful demonstration to express dissatisfaction over INEC’s handling of the party’s internal leadership crisis. During the protest, some participants were heard chanting “Tinubu must go,” a slogan directed at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Reacting in a post on his official Facebook page, Igbokwe questioned the basis of the chant, arguing that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had not yet completed a full term in office. He further criticized the protesters, describing them as “street urchins and touts,” while insisting they were ignorant of political realities.

“These ADC clueless kids should be tamed and trained. The boys do not know that the train has left the station,” he was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, the ADC has accused the Tinubu-led administration of allegedly attempting to frustrate its planned national convention in Abuja by restricting access to key public venues. The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said in an interview that requests to use Eagle Square had not been answered, while an application for the Velodrome was reportedly rejected on the grounds of prior scheduling for a cycling event.

He added that the party was not ready to disclose alternative arrangements for the convention at this time, stating that details would remain undisclosed for now.
