JUST IN: NBA Endorses Candidate For 2023 Election

The Nigerian Bar Association, Akwa Ibom State Branch, has endorsed the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate in the state, Pastor Umo Eno, ahead of the 2023 governorship election.

The association resolved that Pastor Eno has demonstrated the capacity, competence, and character required to further the incumbent administration’s development strides in a motion moved by a former chairman of the Eket Branch, Barr. Francis Ekwere, and unanimously seconded.

Separately, the elders of the association, including former Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Prof Enefiok Essien, Barr. Francis Ekwere, a former national officer of the association, Barr. Godwill Umoh, Barr. Nsima Nsima, and others, praised Pastor Eno for deeming fit to consult with them, emphasizing that he was the first to do so.

The elders, who were delighted by the visit, expressed satisfaction with Pastor Eno’s development plans, particularly his deep knowledge of Akwa Ibom State’s current needs, and urged their members to support the PDP guber candidate for a better Akwa Ibom.

In his address to the members of the association, Pastor Eno stated that lawyers are important stakeholders in the state and assured them that if elected in the upcoming elections, they would be given pride of place.

He stated that his administration would work with lawyers to guide the government in doing the right thing in terms of following the rule of law, emphasizing that his administration would be inclusive.

Pastor Eno stated that the government would support lawyer training and retraining, as well as provide some facilities for students to promote professionalism.

While thanking the association for their support and goodwill, the governorship candidate promised not to let them or the state down.
