JUST IN: Ronaldo Returns To Real Madrid (DETAILS)

Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training base as he plots his next steps after leaving Manchester United.

Much has been made of Ronaldo’s future since it was confirmed that United and Ronaldo had agreed to his mutual release at the start of the World Cup. While speculation about his next club continues, many believe it will be Saudi club Al-Nassr.

According to GOAL, Ronaldo will train at Real Madrid’s Valdebebas complex until his future is decided.

Following months of building tension, Ronaldo’s tell-all interview with Piers Morgan, in which he heavily criticized United and Erik ten Hag, was the final straw. In arguably United’s most convincing victory of the season so far against Tottenham, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner refused to come off the bench and headed down the tunnel prematurely, and was fined and dropped from the first team as a result.

It wasn’t the first time Ronaldo had caused a commotion under Ten Hag. Prior to the shocking interview and walkout against Tottenham, the 37-year-old was said to have left Old Trafford early for a pre-season match against Rayo Vallecano. Many believe he will join Al-Nassr after Portugal’s World Cup quarter-final exit, but he appears set to return to Madrid on a limited basis while his future is decided.
