Sinisa Mihajlovic, a former Lazio player and Fiorentina and Milan manager, died of cancer on Friday.

Mihajlovic was a free-kick specialist for Red Star Belgrade, which won the European Cup in 1991. The former full-back also won the Scudetto with Lazio in 2000 before joining the Inter team that was posthumously awarded the 2006 Serie A title due to Juventus’ role in the Calciopoli match-fixing scandal.

Mihajlovic retired in Milan that year, having also played four times for his native Serbia, scoring one goal. He previously managed Fiorentina, Milan, and, most recently, Bologna, where he won 131 games between 2019 and 2022.

The football world paid tribute to Mihajlovic on social media after learning of his death.
