Just In: Soldier Gunned Down By Own Colleague Details Emerge

allegedly discharged his weapon under suspicious circumstances, resulting in the death of a fellow serviceman. This incident took place early Friday morning at approximately 3:12 a.m. in Dansadau, Katsina State, as stated by Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, Director of Defense Media Operations.

The officer involved, Leading Seaman Akila A., has been arrested, disarmed, and detained while an investigation is conducted. Maj.-Gen. Buba noted that once the investigation is complete, the case will be forwarded to a standing court martial, which deals with matters involving military personnel.

“The process of informing the family of the deceased is currently in progress, which is why we have not released the name publicly yet. However, it will be disclosed soon,” Buba said, urging media outlets to handle the incident with care to respect the family’s emotional well-being.
