In a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Muhammad Lawal Shehu, the government clarified that such reports are entirely false and mischievous. It emphasized that there have been no discussions or plans to engage a private negotiator for this purpose.

Furthermore, the statement reiterated the government’s steadfast policy of non-negotiation with terrorists, bandits, and other criminal groups. It underscored the state’s commitment to tackling insecurity through proactive measures and law enforcement efforts.
