Lagos 2027: Ambode Endorses Hamzat, Vows Full Support For Tinubu’s Re-Election
Former Akinwunmi Ambode has congratulated Obafemi Hamzat following his emergence as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 election.
According to reports, the message was conveyed in a personally signed letter issued on Thursday, shortly after Abdul-Azeez Adediran, widely known as Jandor, announced his withdrawal from the race under the party’s platform.
Ambode commended Hamzat for his loyalty to the party and his inclusive style of engagement, noting that his consultations across party structures reflect a deep commitment to unity and progress within the APC. He expressed confidence that Hamzat’s administrative experience and competence would significantly contribute to the continued development of Lagos State.
The former governor also reaffirmed his support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to the President’s re-election bid. He stated that Nigeria’s growth and stability remain closely linked to Tinubu’s leadership and vision for the country.
Ambode further urged party members in Lagos to intensify efforts toward achieving a resounding victory at both state and federal levels. He called on stakeholders within the party to mobilize voters with a target of delivering at least three million votes for the President, while also supporting APC candidates across the South-West region. He additionally stressed the importance of ensuring the return of APC lawmakers to the National Assembly as part of a broader strategy to consolidate the party’s influence.
