The former governor particularly faulted Damagum for entering an agreement with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and then failing to uphold it.

Suswam remarked, “Let’s be honest—the acting chairman has failed us.”

When asked how he would have handled the situation, he replied:
“I would have performed much better. I wouldn’t have entered into an agreement with the FCT Minister only to back out. I would ensure any such move is made in consultation with key stakeholders.”

He added, “The PDP is in the ICU—but people have recovered from such states before. Unfortunately, I doubt if the right steps will be taken. Most members have already lost faith in the party’s leadership.”
