LeBron James Shatters NBA Record As Nuggets Top Lakers

The moment, however, occurred amid a 120-113 defeat for the Los Angeles Lakers against the Denver Nuggets. James finished the night with 16 points, but concern arose late in the fourth quarter when he appeared to injure his left elbow after an awkward collision with a courtside cameraman. Though he returned with roughly two minutes remaining, he struggled visibly on the court.

Denver controlled much of the contest, with Nikola Jokic recording another triple-double of 28 points, 13 assists, and 12 rebounds. The Nuggets’ victory allowed them to maintain a crucial edge over the Lakers in the Western Conference standings, with Los Angeles remaining in sixth place, just ahead of the Phoenix Suns.

Despite the defeat, James’ achievement adds another milestone to an illustrious career. He previously became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer in 2023, surpassing Abdul-Jabbar with over 43,000 career points. Currently in his 23rd NBA season, James has recently hinted at uncertainty over retirement, stating in January, “I don’t know what the future holds.”
