In a statement released by LP’s spokesperson, Obiorha Ifoh, the party accuses Ajaero of a desperate attempt to take over leadership, citing recent maneuvers by the NLC’s Political Commission.

The Commission, in a letter, claimed that Abure and the LP’s National Working Committee (NWC) were planning a clandestine national convention. However, Ifoh dismissed these allegations, asserting that the convention will proceed as scheduled on March 27 in Umuahia.

Ifoh rebuffed Ajaero’s influence, emphasizing that LP’s leadership remains unaffected by external pressure, particularly from non-party members.

He further urged Ajaero and his supporters to engage in genuine politicking by joining the party officially, starting at the grassroots level, before pursuing leadership positions within LP.
