the National Publicity Secretary of the LP, Obiora Ifoh, maintained that Okupe has consistently aligned with the PDP.

He emphasized that the politician should align himself with a political environment that resonates with his ideological beliefs.

Ifoh stated, “Certainly, we received Dr. Doyin Okupe’s letter, expressing his resignation as a member of the Labour Party.

We extend our best wishes to him in his ongoing political journey. The Labour Party values the time he spent with us.

“In December 2022, when he left the campaign due to legal issues, we appreciate the contributions he made as the chairman of the DG of the campaign.

“We wish him the best. He mentions leaving because he is a Liberal Democrat, whereas the Labour Party adheres to Social Democracy.

“This is a positive step because he should be in a space where his ideological stance aligns. He has consistently identified with the PDP, and the Labour Party anticipates his return to his preferred political affiliation.

“We extend our best wishes for his future political endeavors. While we observed the letter on social media, it has not been officially received.”
